Sounds delightful. "Walking through aisles upon aisles of freshly baked melt-in-your-mouth cookies waiting to be devoured. The aroma wafting throughout the store brought back memories of long-ago. The mere amount of the cookies was enough to send my brain into a baked-goods haze." Those last sentences are an example of how you could expand your post. Now I realize that everyone is different so I can not expect you to have come up with that wording. However you could have created such a story and afterward said "well I DID (put DID in italics) go to the cookie store, however it was not nearly as good as my description of it. For you see most of the cookies were no longer fresh. That means that the aroma had long since past. . . . " Of course these are merely suggestions. Because saying you went to the cookie store offers no new information beyond what is already in the title. There is little left to carry a conversation over. However you might not actually care, in any case . . .
